How to prepare photos, logos and copy
Practical rules so your materials look right on the site and don't have to be sent back.
Photographs
- Send originals straight from the camera or phone — not resized copies.
- Don't send photos through chat apps. Most of them shrink the image automatically and that quality can't be recovered.
- Ideal resolution: at least 2000 px on the longer side.
- If you have images from a professional shoot, ask the photographer for the full-resolution files, not the web versions.
- Make sure you hold the rights to use them — images taken from the internet carry real fines.
Logo
- A vector logo is best — files ending in
.svg,.ai,.epsor.pdf. They scale to any size with no loss of quality. - If you only have an image, we need a
.pngwith a transparent background, as large as possible. - Send both a light and a dark version if they exist — the site has both dark and light areas.
- A logo photographed off a business card or cut out of an old website won't do. If that's all you have, tell us — we can redraw it.
Copy
- Send it as a document or spreadsheet, not as images or screenshots.
- Write the way you'd say it to a customer in person. Stiff, formal language usually hurts on a website.
- A few sentences per service is enough — what it is, who it's for, what the customer gets out of it.
- It doesn't have to be perfect. We'll go through the copy together and refine it.
Send materials via a shared folder or a large-file service. Email attachments have size limits and bigger bundles won't get through.
